Description: Today, the hotel industry is experiencing a “seller’s market,” but event planners still need to negotiate to stay within their budgets. Knowing what can be negotiable and what cannot is helpful for both sides of the table.  Successful negotiations do not need to be an either/or; they can have a win-win result.

After the presentation participants will be able to:

1. Understand which negotiable items are of little or not cost to the venue
2. Know when discussions are going from the “sales process” to the “negotiations process”
3. Recognize successful negotiations

Core Competency: 4 - Financial and Contract Management
